Target used to offer markdowns in specific departments on particular days a few years ago, but that practice has since been discontinued. Every Sunday through Saturday, target advertising is broadcast.

Target honors price matching, just like many big-box retailers. Show the register clerk the reduced price you discovered on a competitor's website or in an advertisement.

However, for price matching to be effective, the item must be identical and in stock. Target also offers price matching on its own website.

Let's say you buy a TV and discover it has been reduced a few days later. If after you make a purchase at Target the price drops within two weeks, Target will modify the price for you.
