Can Horses See Color?

Horses have some color vision, but it's not as excellent as ours. Despite being tamed for many years, horses

may not be able to distinguish all the colors they see. According to studies, horses have the finest blue

vision.  Green may also be quite easily recognized by horses. Horses are

capable of distinguishing yellow, although not as effectively as they are

capable of blue and green. Yellow and blue are distinct hues in the eyes of horses. When shown a visual with

two colors, people interpret it as being white or gray. Contrasting colors are invisible to horses.
