Can Lizards See At Night?

Although nocturnal lizards in particular have improved eyesight to perceive

color in extremely low light, not all lizards can see at night. The findings suggested

that even under low moonlight, helmet geckos could see color. They have

350 times more sensitive color vision than people do. Night vision is not as keen for

nocturnal lizards than it is for diurnal lizards. Can lizards see very far? Lizards

have excellent eyesight and can see a great distance. At a distance of 30 feet, a lizard can jump from

one tree to another. We may suppose that the lizards have a vision range of at least that.
