How long can your fish go without a water change?

The water in an aquarium should, on average, be changed by 10% per

week. Each week, the water in smaller tanks or tanks with plenty

of fish should have roughly 25% of its volume replaced. Water needs to

be changed more frequently in smaller aquariums. Consider the length of your

absence, the number of fish present, and the size of the tank when deciding how

much water to replace. Just a heads up! Fish should be watched after a thorough cleaning and water change.
