How Long Do Horses Live?
A tamed horse lives for 25 to 30 years on average. The usual lifespan of
wild horses, including Mustangs, is closer to 15 years. Because
veterinarians can attend to their medical issues and dietary requirements,
domesticated horses often live longer. A wild horse has a tougher
difficulty keeping up with the herd when they start to slow down because of
arthritis or when they can no longer feed well because of dental problems.
