When properly socialized and taught, a German Shepherd is child-friendly and likes playing with kids.
They are a highly intelligent breed that has historically been chosen specifically for their vigilant, devoted
personalities with their families. They attach with youngsters in the house immediately and have a tendency
to defend them, but if properly taught and trained, they might develop an excessive protectiveness for
family members. German Shepherds who have been trained in obedience, socialized with children of
all ages, and, if they were rescued or adopted, temperament-tested are those that are child-friendly.
