Macaw parrot information

Hyacinth macaws may nest in riverbed holes, although macaws often nest in tree hollows. Some macaws can

mimic noises, and they are easily domesticated. Many locals keep these noisy parrots as pets despite the

fact that they occasionally bite and gnaw with their strong beaks. The biggest of the more than 400 parrot

species are called macaws. The typical macaw weight ranges from two to four pounds, which is

substantial for a bird. The hyacinth macaw, the biggest of the macaws, may grow to a length of about three and a half

feet from beak to tail tip. While medium-sized parrots typically live between 15-20 years, macaws often live between 25 and 50 years.
